Web Host
An Internet Service Provider, or ISP, is a company that provides internet connectivity and/or web hosting. Connectivity can be via a number of different communication networks. From the venerable old dial-up modem, to ISDN, DSL, T1 line or other digital network connection. Hosting is usually provided as either shared hosting, where you have your web site on the same physical server as other sites, to dedicated, where you have all the resources available on a server of your own. If you supply your own dedicated server equipment to the web host, this is usually referred to as co-location.
